Individual Medical Insurance

Can  I start by saying that there is no cost to compare and buy insurance through an agent.  We are paid directly by the carriers and your cost is the same as going direct.

On this web page you can:

1.  COMPARE PREMIUMS:
I've picked the best 5 plans from all the carriers I represent and compare them in the Red PDF links below.  Click on the link for your age range.

2.  REVIEW COVERAGE:
You can view brochures for each company and compare all the plans if you like.   Make sure you read the limitations and exclusion sections.  I have more detailed summaries of benefits available for most plans.
3.  APPLY FOR COVERAGE:
Use my convenient online application link or I can email or mail you a paper application if you prefer me to review it ahead of time.

4.  CHECK  PROVIDERS DIRECTORIES:
At the bottom of the page you can find Online Directory Links to check what doctors are contracted with the plan.  It always pays to use In-Network Providers as you will only pay the contracted rate.

SPECIAL NOTES ON QUOTING:

1.  QUOTING A FAMILY:   To quote a family, it is often less expensive to put the younger spouse and children on one policy and the older spouse alone on a separate policy.  However, both ODS and Kaiser rate based on the younger spouse's age, so with either of these companies it may be less expensive having the family together if one spouse is significantly older.  Sometimes it is less expensive to put each family member on a separate policy.   'Run the numbers' before you apply.

2. QUOTING A HUSBAND & WIFE:  To quote a husband and wife, ODS and Kaiser rate based on the younger spouse's age; so it is advantageous to apply together on one application:   An exception would be if you were applying for an HSA plan.  For the other companies consider applying on separate policies to save money long term.

 3. QUALIFYING FOR COVERAGE: Individual medical insurance is medically underwritten and not guaranteed, unless you are under age 19.  Some people are surprised when they get declined.  Part of my service to you is to discuss pre-existing medical conditions (if you would like me to) and encourage you to apply with the companies most likely to offer coverage.  Sometimes applying to 2 companies is wise.

.    /aAA;APPYING FOR COVERAGE:

It is my goal to offer you the best opportunity to get approved for coverage.  Some companies have stricter underwriting guidelines than others.  I might recommend you apply to 2 companies at the same time if you have pre-existing conditions. For this reason,  it benefits you to discuss the various options prior to making applications. I have convenient online application links for most plans below.  You can also complete a paper application and  mail, fax, or scan/email the application to my office if you prefer:
