SHORT TERM MEDICAL INSURANCE
Short Term Medical insurance plans provide from 30-185 days of major medical insurance for those seeking temporary coverage, or for those waiting for other coverage to begin. It was never intended to be a long-term major medical insurance solution. Most services are subject to the deductible. Read the plan for limitations before you apply.
The plans offer no coverage for pre-existing conditions, and the plans are not renewable, however, you can apply for another contract if you are able to answer NO to the 4-5 questions. Each plan can be cancelled at the end of the month as your needs change. Please contact me to determine which plan might be best for you as each plan has its pros and cons. Here are the plans I now recommend:
PLAN #1: SecureLite by Standard Security Life
The Secure Lite Plan is marketed by IHC Health Solutions. Select from 30 days-185 days of coverage per contract. Coverage can begin the day after you apply, or the date of your choice. The plan can be taken out for 6 months, and there are no limits to the number of additional times can reapply after your contract is up as long as you can answer 'no' to the 4 underwriting questions.
Select from a deductible of $500, $1000 or $2500, with a choice of 80/20% or 50/50% coinsurance. Secure Lite pays $25 towards your first 4 office visits. A PPO discounts also apply if you use one of the doctors on the PHCS national network of providers. Choose a monthly billing or pay for the whole contract up front and save 20%.
